Financing isn’t the only option
Not every case needs full representation from start to finish. Limited scope representation lets you hire us for the specific parts of your case where a lawyer matters most — a hearing, a document, a strategy session — and handle the rest yourself. For some families that costs less than financing full representation would. If you’re not sure which fits, ask us before you apply.

Payment plan questions
Does checking my options affect my credit?
Checking your options is a soft credit check with no impact on your credit score. Only late or missed payments can affect your credit. Full details are on LawPay’s client page for Pay Later.
Who decides whether I’m approved?
Affirm does, not our firm. Pay Later is provided through LawPay by Affirm, and Affirm returns a decision to you in real time. We can’t pre-check your eligibility, and we can’t see or influence the outcome.
Can I use Pay Later for any kind of case?
There is no restriction by case type — Pay Later is available on any matter we handle. It is offered to individual clients paying for their own legal matter, and is not available to businesses or other entities paying for commercial purposes. It covers single transactions from $150 to $30,000, and it is not a line of credit: each transaction is evaluated on its own. If a retainer runs low mid-case, you can apply again for an additional amount.
What if I’m not approved?
Approval isn’t guaranteed. If Affirm can’t approve your application, you can pay another way — card, debit, or eCheck — and you can talk to us about whether a different arrangement is possible. Checking your eligibility doesn’t harm your credit score, and each application is considered separately, so you can try again later.
What will my payments be?
You’ll see your monthly payment, your interest, and your total before you agree to anything. Rates run from 0% to 36% APR based on your eligibility, over 3, 6, 12, 18, or 24 months. Affirm sets the terms, not our firm.
How do I apply?
Apply on your own phone. Affirm verifies your identity using a US mobile number, and its terms require you to apply on your own personal device — not on a computer or tablet at our office.
